OBSERVATIONS FROM SOMEONE HALF WATCHING | OCT 25, 2026

Blind-sided by half of what happened this weekend. Who saw Wisconsin getting all over USC? It is time to start looking down the home-stretch now

Texas-Ole Miss: Didn’t really care who won, but can you imagine the pressure on Texas, especially Arch Manning, if the Longhorns had lost. I would say I feel bad for Arch Manning, but when you paid what these guys do now, that is part of the territory. Will the SEC Champ this year have 3 losses? I mean, really? Could be.

Georgia: resting up after somehow losing to Auburn this week. Big game against Florida next week. If the right version of Florida shows up, that game could be a ton of fun to watch.

Arizona State-Kansas State: Kenny Dillingham may be getting the Sun Devils on the right foot halfway through the season. They took down Kansas State yesterday and are sitting at 4-3 now. Still think he is a pretty good coach. Do they finish strong? They have BYU coming up this week. How does that go? Arizona, Oklahoma State, still on the schedule, too.

Alabama-Texas A&M: Alabama didn’t look great but showed some tough down the stretch to pull out the win. Big game coming up at LSU. If they can get past that, the rest seems manageable.

Auburn-LSU: The big win over Georgia last week was short-lived. LSU could do about anything they wanted to do all day. Still, if Auburn can win 2 of 3 against Samford, Arkansas & Mississippi State, they go bowling. If they pick up a win against Ole Miss or Alabama, Golesh should be over-the-moon for Year 1.

Michigan-Indiana: Those Michigan all blue uniforms look fantastic. Just my opinion. Indiana does not look nearly as strong as last year but we will see how things turn out. I saw about 30-seconds of this game but The Big House is an outstanding back-drop for football.

Tennessee-South Carolina: Tennessee…are you kidding me?

UCLA, Kentucky, Northwestern..this is fantastic! Hope you can keep things rolling.

Air Force & Army are hanging in there pretty good this year. Big game when they face each other coming up Nov 7th. Tough year for Navy with only 2 win so far.

UAB vs. South Florida coming up on ESPU this week from Tampa. Kick-off at 11AM central. Can UAB go bowling this year? Sitting at 4-3 in Alex Mortenson’s first full year as coach. Pulling for them.

University of North Alabama is sitting at 4-4 heading into the home stretch. Two more home games left (West Florida | Nov 7th; Tarleton State | Nov 21st) at the brand-new Bank Independent Stadium this season.

Harvard knocked off Princeton yesterday and is at 6-0 in the Ivy League.
