Damage Assessments Are Becoming More Clear
It has been a couple of weeks now since Hurricane Isais tore through the Florida Panhandle and made its way northward through Alabama on October 9th. Insurance companies now have a much better view of losses as claims continue to come in.
Insurance Journal was reporting, as of a few days ago, over 47,000 claims have been filed in Florida related to the Category 2 Storm with insured losses in the $580m range thus far.
Overall, from what I am reading, it appears most companies that track information on this believe the storm will end up being responsible for $3b – $4b in insured losses.
This includes not only property damage but also the business interruption and other related claims that are following.
